Call for Papers

The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP-2008, the 15th in the series that has been held annually since 1994, will bring together leading engineers and scientists in image and video processing from around the world. Research frontiers in fields ranging from traditional image processing applications to evolving multimedia and video technologies are regularly advanced by results first reported in ICIP technical sessions. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Paper Submission: Prospective authors are invited to submit papers of not more than four (4) pages including results, figures and references. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission at https://florafox.com/ru/ivanovo-55.

Tutorial proposals: December 7, 2007
Special Session proposals: January 7, 2008
Workshop proposals: January 7, 2008
Submission of papers: January 18, 2008
Notification of acceptance: April 29, 2008
Submission of camera-ready papers: June 15, 2008 July 21, 2008
Author registration deadline: July 21, 2008
Demonstration proposals: June 30, 2008

Tutorials: Tutorials will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Proposals for tutorials must include a title, an outline of the tutorial and its motivation, a two-page C.V. of the presenter(s), and a short description of the material to be covered. Proposals for tutorials should be submitted to Namrata Vaswani at by December 7, 2007.

Workshops/Special sessions: As in previous editions ICIP-2008 will include a number of special sessions. In addition ICIP-2008 will include 2-4 workshops taking place on October 12. Workshops will include tutorial presentations, lectures and posters on specific focused areas, while special sessions will consist of lectures and will continue to be part of the main technical program. Proposals for workshops should be sent to Aggelos Katsaggelos and Kenneth Rose at by January 7, 2008. Proposals for special sessions will be due to Drs. Katsaggelos and Rose at by January 7, 2008. Detailed guidelines for submission will be provided in the conference webpage. Quality workshop proposals that cannot be accommodated within the limited space, and whose scope can be narrowed appropriately, will be invited for resubmission as special session proposals. Prospective organizers are strongly encouraged to contact Drs. Katasaggelos and Rose in advance.

Demo Sessions: ICIP 2008 will introduce demonstrations. The purpose of demos is to give presenters from the technical sessions the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations of their contributions. Prospective demo participants should fill out and submit a demo application form which will be included in the conference webpage. At least one of the people presenting the demo must be registered for the conference. The conference reserves the right to select demonstrations based on the degree of appropriateness for ICIP. The deadline for demo application is June 30, 2008.
